【INCENSE.TEA HOUSE】Hsiao Fang Pottery Arts Master Cai Xiaofang's Early works of Ru ware large crescent-shaped tea jar with crackle pattern

Sun and Moon Imagery: The jar has a rounded, full body with broad shoulders and a tapering belly. The lines of its shoulder and neck, or belly, are smooth, with an elegant crescent-shaped curve. The shape features a crescent-shaped pattern, and the round lid symbolizes the sun, hence the name "Sun and Moon Jar" or "Crescent Moon Jar."

Large Size: Early large crescent moon jars were extremely difficult to fire. Large pieces were highly susceptible to deformation in the kiln due to uneven heating, making perfectly preserved large jars extremely rare.

Warm and Lustrous Glaze: The addition of natural minerals such as agate creates a captivating color reminiscent of a sky after rain. The glaze is thick and lustrous, with a warm, pure, and flawless texture like jade, making it one of Xiaofang Kiln's most representative works.
