Object Profile

Sacrificial Blue, also known as deep jewel blue, is a classical high-fire monochrome glaze inherited from Ming and Qing imperial kilns. Master Tsai Hsiao-fang masterfully controls the delicate reduction of cobalt oxide, creating a glaze layer that is rich, uniform, and deeply lustrous. Resting on the tea table, it holds the stillness of the night sky, revealing sapphire undertones under natural light. The interior is lined with a smooth white glaze to showcase the true clarity and hue of the tea soup.


Form & Tea Aesthetics

  • Classic Pear Silhouette: Inheriting the graceful pear-shaped profile of the Yuan and Ming dynasties, the full-bodied lower curve and lowered center of gravity give tea leaves ample room to unfurl and release their essence.

  • Effortless Pour & Tactile Balance: The spout provides a steady, clean pour with an immediate, sharp cut-off. Proportioned with understated elegance, the teapot feels balanced and natural in the hand.
