【INCENSE.TEA HOUSE】Hsiao Fang Pottery Arts Early works: a set of six small white straight-rimmed cups with six saucers, presented in a gift box.

The "Six Cups and Six Saucers Set of Ding White Straight-Mouthed Small Cups" personally crafted by Master Cai Xiaofang in her early period is an extremely rare and complete top-grade tea set among Xiaofang Kiln's monochrome glaze works. In contemporary tea ceremonies, Ding white glaze is renowned for its literati aesthetic of "recreating the unparalleled whiteness of Song Dynasty Ding ware." The complete early set of "six cups and six saucers" is extremely rare, both in its past production and in today's auction market, making it a coveted piece for discerning collectors to enjoy tea together and for setting up a tea ceremony.

Glaze: Ding white glaze is known for its warm, ivory-white, lipid-like texture. The glaze is full, soft, and possesses a restrained luster like jade, perfectly recreating the historical reputation of Ding ware as "the whitest ware under heaven." With the use of tea, the glaze will gradually transform into a warmer, more lustrous form.

Shape Design: The early straight-mouthed cups were meticulously finished. Holding a thin-walled straight-mouthed cup should feel "light, sturdy, and weightless." The straight-mouthed cup shape allows for a moderate flow of tea when it enters the throat, and concentrates the aroma, making it ideal for enjoying Taiwanese high mountain oolong tea or delicate aged tea.
