【INCENSE.TEA HOUSE】Hsiao Fang Pottery Arts Blue and white underglaze red "Dawn" teacups, hand-painted orchid teacups with saucers, gift box set.

Design: The dignified and understated "Yingxiao Cup" features a full, rounded body with a slightly flared rim. Its stable and elegant shape provides a solid feel when held. When paired with a matching saucer, the distinct curves of the cup and saucer create a sense of refined elegance.

Craftsmanship Challenges: Following the rounded curves of the Yingxiao Cup, the artist meticulously depicted the flowing orchid leaves and delicate floral embellishments, perfectly integrating the brushstrokes of traditional Chinese ink painting into the teaware. The craftsmanship involved is exceptionally low: the cobalt oxide (blue-and-white) and copper oxide (underglaze red) are fired at high temperatures on the same cup body. Copper oxide is extremely sensitive to temperature and kiln atmosphere, easily volatilizing (a process known as "burning away") or turning black. Simultaneously presenting the subtle beauty of the blue-and-white and the warm luster of the underglaze red on the exquisite Yingxiao Cup requires exceptional skill in fire control and glaze blending. This is a very rare high-end tea set item in the high-end tea set market.
