The inscription on the teapot, "Three People, Taibai Cup," is derived from the famous poem "Drinking Alone Under the Moon" by the Tang Dynasty poet Li Bai: "I raise my cup to invite the bright moon, and with my shadow, we become three."

This implies that even when drinking tea alone, the tea drinker, like Li Bai, can find three companions—the moon and their own shadow—and enjoy a romantic tea-drinking experience.

Due to the hand-refining of clay during the Qing Dynasty and firing in pine wood kilns, the clay appears warm and lustrous, with rich granular layers and the understated sheen of "ripe clay." Qing Dynasty teapots typically feature smooth lines, and the connection between the spout and lid possesses the rustic charm of handcrafted teapots, making this a highly collectible antique teapot.
