【INCENSE.TEA HOUSE】Xiaofang Kiln Master Cai Xiaofang's early works, ivory white coffee cup set

Xiaofang Kiln's early "Dingbai" (Ding ware) pieces are renowned for their warm, jade-like, thick, and full glaze, making them highly prized collectibles among seasoned collectors. Master Cai Xiaofang was commissioned by the Palace Museum in her early years to copy official kiln wares from various dynasties; therefore, her Ding ware style deeply embodies Song Dynasty aesthetics, characterized by thin, sturdy bodies and glazes with a soft, oily sheen.

The coffee cups exhibit a subtle translucency at the rim, a phenomenon known as the "iron rim," creating a layered effect. They are typically paired with a matching round saucer, the lines of which echo the cup's body, resulting in a strong sense of unity.
