In the official collection of the National Palace Museum, the "ear cup" is a traditional drinking vessel originating from the Warring States period to the Han Dynasty, featuring handles on both sides resembling wings or clouds; the ancients called it a "feather cup."

However, among contemporary tea connoisseurs and antique collectors, the "Palace Museum style" cloud-ear cup almost always refers to the Xiaofang Kiln Ru ware cloud-ear cup made by Master Cai Xiaofang. Its elegant wing-like curves possess both decorative beauty and practicality for modern tea ceremonies.

The glaze is warm and lustrous: the sky-blue glaze successfully mimics the "sky after rain, where the clouds break" imagery sought by Emperor Huizong of Song, a blue-green hue that presents a restrained, profound, and understated texture.
