Yixing Factory 1 | Master Artisan Pan Zouqi
1980s Vintage "Ruyi Spring Ox" Zisha Teapot
Vessel Curation / Yixing Factory 1 Vintage Zisha Teapot
Jiangsu, China・Yixing Purple Clay Craft Factory 1
Curatorial Notes
A masterfully sculpted emblem of prosperity from the golden 1980s era of Yixing Factory 1. Handcrafted by renowned veteran artisan Pan Zouqi, this classic "Ruyi Spring Ox" (Chun Niu) teapot unites traditional agrarian symbolism with elegant literati ruyi motifs. Shaped from pure original ore purple clay (zini), the texture is dense and naturally granular without artificial glaze. The vessel rim gracefully sculpts a spring ox holding its head high with serene composure, paired with flowing ruyi cloud bands along the contours. Decades of natural aging allow the clay to absorb tea infusions readily, developing a lustrous, mellow patina that celebrates peaceful heritage.
Vessel Form & Tea Space Aesthetics
Vintage Purple Clay & Thermal Harmony: Authentic 1980s Factory 1 purple clay features superior heat retention and micro-porosity. It excels at smoothing tannins and bringing out the velvety sweetness in roasted oolongs, aged teas, and pu-erh.
Sculpted Ox & Auspicious Ruyi Motifs: The rim area features an uplifting spring ox with poised serenity, while ruyi clouds frame the body. With an agile pour and balanced handle, it anchors the tea space with warmth and timeless blessings.
