【INCENSE.TEA HOUSE】Master Cai Xiaofang of Xiaofang Kiln Ru Kiln crackle water square

The water container, also known as the Jianshui container, is primarily used in tea ceremonies to hold discarded tea leaves or wastewater. This piece blends the minimalist aesthetics of Song Dynasty Ru ware with modern, exquisite craftsmanship, featuring simple yet elegant lines.

Glaze and Crackle: It employs a classic sky-blue glaze, with a warm, jade-like texture. Its "crackle" (ice crackle) is a natural crack formed during the cooling process of the glaze. With long-term exposure to tea, the cracks gradually absorb the tea color, forming a unique "golden thread and iron wire" aesthetic.

Craftsmanship Value: Master Cai Xiaofang is hailed as the "Master of Contemporary Taiwanese Official Kilns." Her Ru ware works are renowned for their "thin body and thick glaze" and "agate infused glaze," recreating the ethereal beauty of Song Dynasty porcelain, where "the sky clears after rain and the clouds break."
